水素水を飲用することで、疾患防御に効果があることを実験的に示した最初の論文.拘束することで長期間身体的ストレスを与えたマウスは、学習・記憶能力が低下する.このマウスに水素水を与えるとその低下を予防することができた.拘束により脳における酸化ストレスの蓄積と歯状回神経前駆細胞の増殖低下が観察されるが、そのいずれも水素水によって抑制された。
